Blockchain technologies have great potential for impact on business, government, and society. However, for blockchains to be widely adopted and accepted, it is imperative that security challenges related to blockchain technologies be addressed appropriately. Conversely, blockchains can act as a powerful substrate for security and cryptographic technologies.

To address key issues and developments in these budding new fields of 'Security of Blockchain' and 'Blockchain for Security', the Waterloo Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and the Waterloo Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI) are co-organizing a workshop on Blockchain+Security, where a set of world-leading experts in these topics from industry and academia will give talks from Saturday Oct 5 to Sunday 6, 2019 at the University of Waterloo. This workshop is open to undergraduate and graduate students, academics, industry professionals, as well as blockchain enthusiasts.
